Coalface Stories first began before COVID, creating space for honest conversations about the journeys behind the people we meet through business and life. Then the world changed, priorities shifted and the podcast was put on hold—but the stories never stopped mattering.
In July 2026, Ian Wilson turned 60.
It felt like the right time to bring Coalface Stories back and mark the year in a way that means something: sixty conversations with sixty people, each with a different journey to share.
These are not polished success stories or step-by-step formulas. They are conversations about where people began, the paths they followed, the wrong turns, turning points and experiences that helped shape who they are today.
Some stories may inspire you. Others may make you smile, challenge an assumption or help you recognise something of your own journey. Every one is a reminder that there is always more to a person than the part of their story we happen to see.
